Hello
I would like to join in please
I'm not strictly a FTB as I had a couple of places with my ex but would like to seriously start saving for my first place on my own. I promise to sit down and work out my finances at the weekend as I've had my head in the sand for a long time. I have some savings but also an overdraft  and will look at the best options for optimising the savings and paying that off as I have more than enough to do that. Does it sound strange that I ignore that and prefer to look nicely at the savings balance?:rotfl:
JimLad - don't worry - I've been on a few dates in the last year where I've thought they were very nice chaps only for them not to call!:rotfl:Finally decided I'll have to do it all on my tod and if a tall, dark chap comes along in the meantime, so be it!
Inspired by all of your brilliant saving, and hoping to do half as well0 -
:jwelcome to the thread!:j

I have been saving for 2 years at the end of this year and goal for them is $50,000.
Trouble is, have no idea what market is doing here, and how long I am going to be around this area also, so find the buying thing a wee bit confusing sometimes!!
Figure I might as well save for another year, next year, and aim for a $75,000 deposit and maybe $5000 to cover associated costs too."Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!!"Nov NSD: ?/30 Nov Make 10 Day ?/300Get Rid Of Debt: ?/2000 !! :mad:0 -
Right, got paid today, so have paid off the overdraft from my savings. :j
Next step - go into building society at lunchtime to get a replacement passbook for my ISA and will fill this up too as my savings account has a much lower rate. I'll then start researching a better savings account to use for the rest of the tax year.:T0 -

Hopefully for all of you prices will continue to come down to a more sensible level, when I bought my first house it was 88k and I had a ten grand deposit, and that seemed like a lot of money, it was only ten years ago, it just seems crazy now. We struggled to get our first mortgage.Pawpurrs x0
