Just thought I post another update as I haven't for a while.

Got paid yesterday and have managed to save a bit more towards my house deposit. I only have another £2500 left to save (4-5months worth of saving) before I have reached my target

The plan is to move out from home and rent when I have reached my target (November-ish), keep an eye on the housing market for a year and then when I am ready to jump in I will already have my deposit.

Also, a big well done to those of you reaching milestones :)
    Saving for a deposit: £20,551 / £25,000 - 82% of the way there...

To find the percentage saved divide the amount you have saved by your target, then times by 100. For example for me it would be (3003/40,000)x100 = 7.51%
    Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81
    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off

    We've got a viewing tomorrow.

Hadn't been planning on any more viewings for a good few months having recently moved to a new rental house, but this place could be too good to miss. It's in the perfect area as far as I'm concerned, and houses don't crop up too often round there - only ten sales in the street since 2001.

The house is set to go to auction unless sold prior. I'm wary of buying at auction, so if it's right for us we may put an offer in prior to auction. The house ticks all the right boxes (on paper at least), it's in the right area, and we have plenty deposit saved so the mortgage would be affordable, but the timing doesn't feel right.

We'll see how we feel after viewing tomorrow.

Seems like it could be good, definitely not one to miss a viewing and if you get there and decide its not for you or the timing still isnt right atleast you are not left thinking 'could it have been?', 'what if' etc

How do people get into the babysitting role? Is it money extra or as an actual job? I have a little girl so well experienced in this! Maybe i could earn a few quid here and there?

    Hi happytails,
I'm a Nursery Nurse and I look after one of the kids from my work place after Nursery 3 nights a week for anything from an hour to 3 or 4 hours a night. I also work for an agency who only hires qualified childcarers as babysitters. For me its extra money and I can make an extra £100 - £200 a month which I split between my house fund, holiday fund and my car fund.
