Wow, i never thought of that, I have just got the kick a$$ letters and im going to give it a go, im guessing that a cheque is not a good idea either as it has a signature... lol, a trip to the post office it is.
Yep. No cheques either.

Fermi - thanks again for your advice. Like you say, it's only a few recorded delivery letters - no harm in trying! I think I'll leave Tesco a bit longer before writing again. I guess the longer it takes them to respond (if at all), the stronger the case I'll have with FOS, OFT etc if it comes to that!
Kevin - let me know how you get on with Barclaycard, they are next on my list!! The link Fermi posted is the one I got the letter from. Just make sure you follow the process, send everything recorded delivery and use postal orders as Fermi says... Fingers crossed we might get somewhere!0 -

I have a default from A&l i will be writing them a letter, how much does it cost fro them to send me the information?0
-
Ok, so after Barclays giving me hassle about not signing the letter, another lender has responded with inaccurate information...
Basically, the Default on my credit reports shows as July 2007 with Equifax, August 2007 with Experian. However the lender has sent me a copy of a default notice dated 24 March 2006. There is no record of a default with this date. I think the debt was sold on around this time (without my knowledge - I only found out in November 2007 when calling to make full payment on the account).
Any ideas how to respond? I know they can't put a default on the same account twice. And as the Default Notice they have is dated a year before the default on my credit report, I would obviously prefer to run with that one as it will drop off a year sooner!
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks

Newmum1 - it costs a £1. Check out this link, it tells you exactly what you need to do. http://www.learnmoney.co.uk/credit-c...lt_notice.html0

Oh and the amounts are different too - I was on a DMP so the figure on the 2006 default notice is higher what's recorded on my credit report for 2007.
I'm not sure what legislation I can shout at them to get it corrected?0 -
Ok.. i have been down the road of sending requests for full info, these have been ignored and then after several months the info arrives and is all incomplete and basiclly rubbish.
In the meantime i have reported the companies involved to all of the relevant bodies, ICO, OFT, TS etc... with no conclusion at all.
Now i find that the companies have resumed their reporting of default info onto my credit file, without any substantiated proof of the debt at all.
Does anyone on this forum have any ideas how i can progress this to a conclusion, i really would like to get my credit worthiness back !!

Barclaycard replied but I NEED URGENT ADVICE!!! They messed up big time, I will briefly outline the letter here, it said all the usual stuff about this satisfies our legal obligation under CCA etc. Amount outstanding, Amount agreed to pay off per week and enclosed was a copy of an application.
The problem was that the application is not signed by me, not at my address, not my date of birth, not my security details etc. Basically Barclaycard has sent me someone elses application form (Luckilly I know who it is, it is my father) but how could they mix details like that up and what should I do now?
Also, they did not send a copy of the default notice, possibly because my dad cut up the card and sent it back when he got it, he only appliedto get a voucher and goody bag at a motorway service station.
Thanks
