Just a little update.

I can't do a diary 'cos I can't be [STRIKE]arsed[/STRIKE] bothered so I thought I'd push you all over the edge with my tales of doom and gloom:p .

Ok a quick update for those who may be interested.

Our house is still *sigh* for sale, I've had 2 low offers even though we dropped the price by £20,000. Kind of accepted one on the proviso that the person offering manages to sells their house *double sigh*.

We have no cooker as myself and OH are trying to slowly but surely tile the floor, walls, sort electrics in the kitchen all with no spare money. In fact we have to find a kitchen as we have no units......with no spare money.

We do have a slow cooker and a friend has lent me her electric steamer.:T

I ebayed myself half to death over the last two days and managed to get over 50 items on. Trouble is they're all low value really so don't expect much from them. God I've gone a bit Eyore haven't I?:D

Erm I've got a bit obsessed with collecting Tesco vouchers and can be regularly seen shuffling around car parks looking for receipts with points unclaimed. Yup I have no shame and its kind of a free hobby.:D

Spent my child benefit today kitting my ever growing children out in clothes and shoes. Feel rotten that I still have to seek sale items for them always. :o

But a bargains a bargain and there are a lot of sales on.

Our debt, ahh that old chestnut, well nowt to tell. Haven't paid anything off anything for ages, just seem to be drifting along so any tips on motivation, send 'em my way.

So in the words of loony tunes, 'that's all folks', Triker reporting for DFW duty, over and out.:p XX

Did i jump, or was i pushed?? :p

Good to see you're still plugging away and not letting anything get your down... too much.

Good luck with the house - hopefully you'll get a result or another buyer comes in.

I take it you've tried freecycle for the kitchen stuff?
    Just a thought.

    Keep up the good work.

  • hi just to say really i'm in a similar situation apart from i'm not selling my house, not much point theres only about £2k equity.

slow cooker and steamer cooker are much healthier for you!! and as triker sai check out your local free cycle i've jut got a new fish tank and slide for the kids.

Certainly don't feel bad about buying your kids clothes from the sale, I only ever buy clothes in sales or matalan and primark, for me and the kids They never look scruffy and ppl don't know we live on the bread line every month and I wear slippers with big holes in!! (lol i'm just too tight to buy a new pair!!)

Good luck with the house, don't let it get you down hun xx

Yep definitely try freecycle, there are frequently kitchen units and appliances on our local one, which at a minimum would do you until you can get something more permanent. If they're decent you could maybe just replace doors or just have them as they are!

    Anyway, good luck!
All I seem to hear is blah blah blah!

    Hey triker.. :hello:
I'm not jumping or being pushed so :P
I'm not sure if your area has the same but in Stafford we have what's called the 'Stafford Furniture Exchange' which is basically a charity who collects and gives out old unwanted furniture... you never know your area might have something along the same lines!

    Ey oop Triker :D

Don't worry about being a bit Eyore (LOVE it....definitely going to adopt that phrase!), if you can't moan to us, who can you, eh?

Sorry things are a bit crappy at the moment. Hopefully the start of spring will bring you some luck with the house sale (houses always look better in the sun).

All my kids clothes come from either the sale rails or George, and they are always nicely dressed and look gorgeous (ok, I'm a tiny bit biased...lol!). You don't need to spend £20 on a childs t-shirt to be a good Mum. Quite the opposite in fact.

Would definitely second trying Freecycle - I see quite a few kitchen units etc on our local one, and while they might not be ultra new and stylish, you might be surprised at what some folks give away.

Keep smiling hun, things will sort themselves out soon, they always do. xxx
