Special 21st birthday present for a daughter-please read and respond!!

Hi everyone
As the title suggests, my daughter is going to be 21 in June and I am REALLY stuck for present ideas.
She is a student of French and Classics - quite 'scatty' with her belongings - but i love her!!
She also tends to only wear the jewellery her boyfriend buys her so no joy there!!She doesn't drive either - and doesnt seem to want to!!I want to get her a keep sake - or something to commemorate her day but not just a 'dust collector' if you see what i mean!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!( PLEASE)

What about a photo album of special pictures from her childhood up to the present? Or taking her away for a weekend/day out?

I got my (now gf then just friend) a lovelly jewellery box from a chinese shop.
It is red lackered wood with a little cork carving in the top. Its really lovelly and was not that expensive when I bought it.

How about a watch? I got a decent one from my mum for my 30th and was well chuffed. You could get her to pick it herself so she could get one to suit her style.

My DD has just celebrated her 21st within the last couple of weeks. She recieved lots of lovely presents but didn't want any keep sakes as we live in a small house and just don't have the room. The presents she got were
    Suitcase and hold all set.
    Roll up jewellery holder.
    Expensive perfume.
    Designer handbag
    Designer shoes.
Champagne and glass that was personalised for her
She has a car so she got a Tom Tom also an AA membership for the year.
Chocolate champagne bottle personalised from Thorntons.
    Playboy jewellery. She loves playboy.
    Money
    Lots of bottles of alchol.
    Boxes of chocolates
    Huge 21st birthday balloon
Birthday cake but also i made her a huge cookie and persoanlised it as she doesn't like cake.
Huge teddy with 21 on and photo frame with 21 on.
Photo frame with photo's of her and her friend and also her friend wrote her a poem.
    Tiny elephant broach.She loves elephants.
Also had a family meal out and had another night out with friends. They all went dressed up as bunnies including the lads.
Hope this has given you some ideas.
Wishing your daughter a very early happy 21st birthday for june

congrats on her 21st for a start- a real milestone
she sounds tricky to but for-my daughter got her best friend a star named after her-you get a scroll highlighting the star to frame-all wrapped in a ribbon etc-she also had a star at a local jewellers with the co-ordiantes engraved onmade for her friend to wear (though your dds not a jewellery person-shame i got my neice a gorg silver bracelet for her 18th this sept-its engraved with the phrase 'go confidently in the direction of your dreams live the life you imagined' which i thought was apt)
you could make her a cd with every number one on her birthday since she was born?? or special song/s to her-i gave my dd ' i hope you dance' for her 16th-have a listen to the lyrics -its about going out and living!!
the memory book is a good idea with piccies across the years with captions and details like..mondays child is... birthwieght...who was primeminister...headlines from the day she was born etc
east of india do a great 21st book to use for this
this may sound bizarre--but a little tattoo?? dd has a gorgeous subtle one and i too have a tiny one on my ankle in memory of my beloved cat who i lost suddenly--mad but i love it!!
a pampering day/2 day break just for you and her---we did chester and it was ace!!
with her studying french-a short break to paris??
a photo shoot for her and bf?

    good luck hth x

Hiya If she studies the classics a lovley present would be a first edition or limited published book perhaps she has a favourite or somthing she has enjoyed studying?

I studied theatre arts and for my 18th got a really old complete works of shakespear its lovley and 12 years later I still get it out to look through.

I just celebrated my 21st but jewellery was top of my list!
The watch idea is very good or a pampering day for her and friends would be appreciated.

On the keep-sake front, (echoing the above) if she enjoys her course how about some books from the Loeb Classical Library. Then she can keep her favourite works forever. I've currently only got 3 of my favourites, but am adding to it rapidly!
