What about ISA's, wondering when they will reduce the interest on them?

Very pleased for all you lot.

Bear in mind, tho, that some of us have more savings than mortgage so it's not all good news.:(

Yes, once again it's us savers that have to prop up the bl**dy borrowers.

    Yawn.

I say to hell with it all - let's go crazy. Let's blow our savings, stuff our faces and then run sobbing to the debt free wannabe thread where criticism of any kind is totally outlawed.

Any news on Egg - have looked on their website but nothing, but they usually v good - 0.25% would knock a month off our pay off date (paying more than we need to, don't reduce payments. Am getting obsessed with paying it off!)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

make your mind up, on one board you moan about how you can't afford property and basically want to get a mortgage, the next minute you jump to the other foot and pop on your never want a mortgage hat. Seeing as you're a renter, maybe suggest your landlord reduces your rent in line with the drop and then you don't lose out

sorry, just the order I read the board in. 6.21 house buying board he moans that a rate cut isn't helping FTB's as they expect maybe one more cut then the rate to rise again thus mortgages more expensive. An hour later and it's wanting the rate up to help his savings and stop bailing out teh borrowers and homeowners.

    Consistently inconsistent.

Did If or First direct have a choice ??

First Direct have promised to never be more than 1% above BoE base rate, so if they hadn't moved fast I'd have been on the phone !

SVR cuts will also be of interest to anybody on a discounted mortgage linked to their lenders SVR.

    1. Intelligent Finance is passing on the full cut reducing their SVR to 5.7%
    2. First Direct also passing on the full cut reducing their SVR to 5.5%

    I beg your pardon?

You have the right to brand me a troll when you've barely scraped together a hundred posts?

If you want to make a pertinent comment on what i've written then do so. To jump up and down and scream troll because you don't agree with what I've written is surely against the board rules.

Woby - see the property thread for why I am against a drop in mortgage rates, although I should think it's blindingly obvious.

    Oh for crying out loud...

Why would I personally want cuts in interest rates, thereby fuelling higher property prices?

I'm not moaning about anything. I don't think a tiny cut is going to help anyone except banks and EAs who'll be able to peddle the lie that now is "a great time to buy". Six months later, int rates go up again.

    Banks win, recent buyers lose.
