Making overpayments if intending to emigrate?

I'm less than a year into a 30 year mortgage and have been intending to make fairly regular overpayments. It now turns out that I'll be selling up and emigrating in five years or so.
Should I continue to make overpayments on the mortgage or are they only really of any value over the entire term?
Up to this point, I've also been reducing the term rather than the monthly payments.
Luckily my overpayments are not locked away and can be retrieved if and when necessary.
Does anyone have any advice? Yet again, I can't quite get my head around this one...

Reducing the mortgage can only be beneficial as it reduces your debt. Depending on what happens in the economy over the next 5 years and the deposit you put down, you may be fire fighting, softening the correction or just being sensible and ensuring that you have the least amount of debt when it comes to selling.
There is nothing saying that you will def go in 5 yrs so I would continue as normal.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
