Take the worry out of buying a digital camera on internet (well, some worry...)

Posted this elsewhere but think it should go here as a lot of people still don't know this:
Jessops will price match most UK internet sites as well as the highstreet! This takes out the worry of buying on the internet and saves postage and packaging. Some Jessops may even match any bundle deals you have found.
They will price match SELECTED web sites. They have a book full of the ones they will match. Take a few of the cheapest sites print outs with you and start with the cheapest, or give them a ring and ask if they will match the site (you need to go in to actually get them to match it - but can ask on the phone beforehand if the company is on their list).
The procedure is as follows:
1) Show them printout - they will check the list.
2) They then phone headoffice and ask if they can match it, even if NOT ON LIST (insist if they don't).
3) Headoffice give them the lowest price they can go to, even if they can't match it. Usually fairly close (I tried this 3 times).
4) Walk away with camera, knowing you can take it back with no hassle if needs be! No waiting for postman either
I saved a fair bit ( > 100 pound off their in store price!). Well worth it.
Good luck all.

I have found they only try to match and this dosent include discount vouchers so there is still some big savings to be had over Jessops price i know this as i went in to get a Casio Z750 they are charging £299 where alot of internet sites ae around £250 the cheapest they would do is £260
In the end i got it from Currys using a £25 off code on the 'tinternet and it came to £240 delivered and if i have problems i can take to a local Currys in my town.0 -
I went into Jessops today hoping to buy the Sony P200. I'd taken a printout with the lowest price being £222 (from EBuyer I think) as they don't price match with Pixmania who were the cheapest. Anyway Jessops wanted £269 for it and they would only go as low as £231 and some odd pence so I've just left it. Would much rather buy instore somewhere than on the net. Any advice very welcome. If I had known then what I know now . . .

Does anyone know if Currys do the extended guarantee. I know Jessops do have a good one which covers all repairs, including accidental damage, for £35 for 3 years. Considering my last Sony one broke within that time (and I hadn't been offered the extended guarantee then) I would definitely take it. Thanks for all advice everyone. If I had known then what I know now . . .
