I'll move this over to the Grabbit board as it's for one day only

Thought you meant someone was giving away free postage stamps, bit of a misleading thread title

Have no idea what blackwell sell either, as when I key https://www.blackwell.co.uk into Firefox all I see is a plain blank white screen...Thanks to all who post constructively.

No mention of this on their website:
For one day only - 9.30am (BST) 3rd August to 9.30am (BST) 4th August 2005. Receive Free UK postage on all UK sourced items to any UK adddress when you buy online today. Plus, all items will be dispatched as soon as they become available, so you won't have to wait!0 -

Except when you want to use Egg Money Manager. Other than that it's great - the Tabbed windows are excellent (though it takes a while to get used to not clicking the top right close box).
Anyway, back to topic, one of my colleagues used to use Blackwells quite extensively, especially for hard-to-get books. However, he now gets most from ebay/Amazon but still goes back to Blackwells when necessary. The advantage of dealing with a company like that instead of Amazon is that they are willing to try and get items for you that are not off-the-shelf (though I'm sure local bookshops will do the same). However, that probably isn't compatible with their 1 day free postage offer!0
