one-non-blonde wrote:I only noticed this by accident on the back of the receipt for stuff I bought on Sunday. I never saw it displayed in the store, nor did a sales assistant point it out at the time of purchase. I bought a huge bundle of kids clothes at 70% off to take home and try on (on them, not me!) and am pretty disgusted to find out I can't return them.
The same thing happened to me a month or so back but I was able to get a credit. I posted on the 'rant' board but of course you'd only see it if you read that board.
When I was in store a few weeks ago, the customer in front of me was arguing with the assistant over something she wanted a credit for. She asked to see the manager who explained that the new sale policy took effect that week but the signs that they had up in store when I got my credit had been taken down and only the smallest little card pointing out the new policy stood on the counter.
As the customer said, you have 28 days to return goods, and you don't expect Debenham's policy to change in that period without them at least acknowledging those goods bought within that period. I think she could have held out for a credit but she said that she just wanted to get out of the store quickly.0 -
Just bought an all seasons duvet (4.5 + 9.5 tog) for single bed reduced from £60 to £18. They also had Super King Size suitable for 6' bed for £30 was £100.0

was looking on the Debenhams website and they had a goose feather/down quilt for £55 - from £110. Thought I'd try instore first and got Duck feather 4.5 tog Super king reduced from £45 to £13.50 and a Siberian Goose Feather & Down 6 tog Super King Size finest luxury duvet reduced from £130 to £39. (Well chuffed - 2 quilts for less than the on-line price for 1 and no P&P!)
I don't have super King size quilt covers, but it fits a King size quilt cover with no problems.
Cat now thinks she is in heaven - must be a slight goosey smell (which I can't smell) and she is having a great time exploring the quilt!!
There were about 10 of each left at Merry Hill Debenhams and some singles too - no Double or King sizes0 -
Has the Refund Policy for Debenhams online changed too? (regarding items on sale?)
Their FAQ's state:
How do I return an item I ordered online?
If you are not satisfied with your item you can return it for a full refund (certain items are excluded due to hygienic or practical reasons unless faulty, i.e. flowers, pierced jewellery, briefs, cosmetic and toiletries). Generally speaking, items should be returned by the method by which they have been delivered to you.
But does this apply to items on sale too? Anyone with any experience?
And, am I correct in understanding that the online orders come with a postage pre paid returns label? (basically, debenhams pays for u to return the items?)0 -
