I left it to H2B to decide the song for the first dance, we like pretty much the same music anyway and I have been thinking to myself I can't have the final say on EVERYTHING to do with the wedding lol. I originally wanted Crazy For You by Madonna, but H2B suggested Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx as it had special meaning to him, so that is what we are having.

It comes from when he did a tour of Iraq for 6 months, a year after we got together (he was in Forces), and I made him a CD of love songs which said how I was feeling, and he said he used to play this song most nights to remind him I was waiting for him...aaahhhhhh.

He never told me this until deciding the first dance though, so now whenever I hear it I get sad thinking of him listening to it out in Basra and thinking of me, and I can see myself crying while we try and dance - will just have to listen to it so much it stops having that reaction!

These are apparently the Top 10 First Dance songs:

    Aerosmith - Don't Wanna Miss A Thing
Bryan Adams - Everything I Do (I Do It For You)
    Lonestar - Amazed
Shania Twain - You're Still The One
Shania Twain - From This Moment
Van Morrison - Have I Told You Lately
    James Blunt - You're Beautiful
Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply
    Robbie Williams - Angels
Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You

I'm kind of glad we're having one that isn't on the list otherwise people might say "oh so and so had that as theirs aswell" although I guess there are only so many songs to choose from!
  • I just got married last Friday and we had Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol then Amazed by Lonestar. Hope this helps.

"Las Palabras De Amor" by Queen

but pick a short song, this is about 4 1/2 minutes long and as romantic as you may think the song you pick is, after the first minute and a half you really wish it was shorter:T

We're having Alicia Keys - If I Ain't Got You

It's reasonably long (4 mins) so we're getting the DJ to fade it out after about 2!!!
