I have gone right off New Look now.

I emailed them about the discount voucher on the booklet and they could not care less.

All they said was that The Booklet is available to pick up in store both with or without a purchase and then in the next sentence said it is up to the manager how they are distributed!!

This seems like very bad customer relations to me and bad for business as they have now lost over £100 of my custom.

But yet that silly salesgirl told you it came with purchase only, didn't she??

So some stores let you take one for free, and others make you buy something first? And I got mine out of HEAT mag?? So confused

Thats makes two of us!!

They must be doing really well in this difficult economic climate to treat potential customers that way, thats all I can say!!

I was thinking that I should have bought a gift card and got one with that. I could then have bought the items using the gift card and the voucher. Would have given them work for nothing.Only wish I had thought of it at the time!

I would have thought that if someone was given one with their purchase they might be tempted to get a refund and buy it again using the voucher and getting the discount.

It really is so silly. I don't think the staff at that branch can be very bright!

The magazines with the discount vouchers are usually available around 2 weeks before they can be used and go very quick so if anyone wanted to return the items to purchase again with 20% discount, they would have to wait a few weeks to get the 20% off their purchase.

However, they could still purchase the items again when the discount is valid and return them with the full price receipt.

My local store give the magazines to anyone. They used to be at the doorway to pick up but now they are at the tills, probably because customers were taking a handful of them.

Yes, but when I went to take one I was told I could only have it with a purchase and that was only the other day and as I understand it the voucher was valid for use at that time.

I only wanted one and I would have spent over £100 there and then, as it was I simply walked out of the store in disgust.

You could have made a cheap purchase - something you might even return for a refund, that way you would have been able to use the discount code for your other purchases.

They only have a limited amount of magazines which are usually gone within a few days, some of their stores don't even get them so I can see why they only give them to customers making a puchase.

That is the stupidy of it, yes I could have done that or as I said bought a gift card but I really did not like the attitude of the SA and I was quite taken aback by it.

The email response I got from New Look was very matter of fact and not customer focused at all.

I do not see why they only give them out with purchases. Surely the whole idea of the discount is to encourage new sales no matter where from.



I also usually buy quite a few gift vouchers from there as presents but this had made me decide that I am not going to any more.

So this dissatisfied customer is voting with her feet.
