I need to buy a new Digital Camera as my other one has suddenly stopped working - Sony Cybershop DC-72 (I think). Going to cost £175 for them just to look at it!!!!! I have looked at the new Sony P200 which is £275 in Jessops. Anyone have one of these or know if it's worth the money. I'd like to stick with Sony as I've bought quite a few of the memory sticks and it won't work in others (as far as I know). Any help appreciated. By the way I have £200 in Boots points so maybe a camera from there is an option.
If I had known then what I know now . . .

You will probably get the camera cheaper than £275. A very quick search shows that Bristol Cameras are doing it for £235. Maybe get Jessops to price match it?
A quick Kelkoo search brings up c£220.
There should be a few reviews on the camera, here is one:

sorry if this isnt very helpful but somebody at work bought a 200 camera for £99 from Maplins as they were on sale as "when its gone its gone", it may be on their website and i cant remember to make etc. she rang the local one and they had one in stock so not even a wasted trip.
maybe worth a lookReady to Go Go!0 -
Went to Jessops and asked them to price match. The best they could give me was just under £233. Can't make up my mind whether I should go for this or think about a different make. Only reason I'm inclined to stick with Sony is the fact I've bought a few of the larger sized memory sticks. If I had known then what I know now . . .

If you have invested much in memory sticks, it would probably be best to stick to Sony. £233 is a pretty decent price, however there are cheaper options. Why do you have to buy from Jessops? What about buying from an online retailer?"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -

I just figured it would be a lot easier if there was any problems to just go back to Jessops. They also do an extended 3 year guarantee for an extra £35 which I think I'll go for. My previous Sony broke just around the 3 year mark but I didn't get offered the guarantee when I bought it.If I had known then what I know now . . .

Just to update you, the DSG group of stores (i.e. Dixons, Currys and PC World) are doing the camera for £231.90 if you buy online.
PC World offer collect in store, so you can buy online, but collect instore. In any case if things go wrong you can take the camera back to a store (I think).
Also if you buy with DSG there are various discount codes kicking around and you can get another 2 - 4 % off using one of the rebate sites."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Ended up paying £237.42 in Jessops this afternoon plus £35 for the 3 year guarantee. Tried Curry's but they were a lot dearer for the guarantee. PC World would give it to me for £231 but then £59.99 for guarantee. Just been using it just now and am very pleased so far.If I had known then what I know now . . .

Re the warranty. Did you sign up there and then? I recently bought a camera from Jessops. It came with a free 5 year parts and labour warranty. If I wanted a full warranty they were charging an extra £65 odd. When I called up to register my free parts and labour, they offered the fully warranty for £41 odd."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0
