totally rubbish quote IMO - i would say 'look after the pounds then u wont have to worry about the pennies'
why waste your time worrying about making a few pence here and there surely there are better things to do ?0 -
while we're on the subject, i've just set up a direct debit for the tv license online. however i have not recieved any confirmation via letter or email. they have taken 27.10 from my account last month and another 27.10 this month.
i realise i am paying this 27.10 for a while before it goes to 11 a month. why is it complicated like this, cant it just be the same each month? doesn't help when planning your monthly budget!0 -
^^ No-one's managed to successfully explain this to me!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

its the same with car tax.. why do you have to pay a minimum of 6 months upfront? cant they move with the times and offer a monthly DD payment??
even better - get rid of car tax and all the admin that goes with it and just increase fuel duty slightly, then you only pay if you use the car. at the moment somebody could be paying £200 a year or so just to park their car on a road all year??0 -

It's not complicated, it's totally logical You only need to get your head around it once ... and it sticks. Read post #5 ..... or read the blurb on the TV licensing site, it's well explained. And .... once you're over the first 6 months you then simply settle down to paying 6 months in advance and 6 in arrears. And the new licence arrives in the middle of it.
It isn't rocket science!;)If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
