Pay some off mortgage or invest ISAs?

Have come into some money - £20,000 - and not sure what's the best financial course of action. Should we pay some off our large mortgage or put it into ISAs? (maxi/mini?) Don't really need access to it. Would it be better to try and pay off a mortgage in general? - Thanks

Its a matter of personal choice and your risk attitude. Tax situation may also come into play as well.

Whereas you should always really clear short term debts, with mortgages, the lower rate you pay means that investments dont have to work so hard to beat that rate potentially.

Sometimes people go with their heart, sometimes their head. There is no right or wrong here.
