Hi Guys...
Haven't posted in a while... been sorting bits out...
We have sold our house and are now renting... we have paid off the secured loan and the Charging order... so the two biggest ones are gone :j
However... I still have roughly £9k to get rid of and my OH has about 15k
So... I was wondering if you lovely people could give me some pointers as I really want the rest gone with the next 18 months.
Thanks in advance guys
Lyns

What about yoru debts how much of those are you paying off with what is left over? Is that really what you have left over???0 -
Thanks for the reply...
I will look at changing the life insurance to joint...
Virgin is under contract and my work contribute £20 as I use the broadband and phone for work, so really I suppose its only £20!
Council Tax is over 10 months as the "free months" come in handy after Christmas.
Will double check my insurances as I haven't searched round for a while...
I've just applied for a petrol card thing so that might help with the petrol... unfortunately I can't walk much as I drop my two girls off at the childminders and then straight to work... I have to be in work for 7:30 so I can't really walk as it would mean leaving home about 45mins earlier.
Unfortunately my work don't offer childcare vouchers :0(
Thanks again for the comments I will do some comparisons online tonite!

Hi guys...
Just wanted to share a little bit of news....
My work have accepted my extended hours application :j thats going to be an extra £200 p/m.... yeah!
So that should help get those debts payed off quicker....
I had a look at my car insurance and all the quotes I got back were higher that what I currently pay so no savings to be made there!
I get free evening and weekend calls on my home phone... stupid question but when they say "evening" is that 6pm or 7pm???

Congrats on the extended hours, it all helps
If your not sure ask regarding the evening calls, I think ours is 6pm, but your best reading your T&Cs or asking.0 -
Hi Scared1980
Good move with the house as many people find it difficult to take this step even when it benefits them greatly. Good news about the job as well.
Looking at what you have in your SOA though your rent does seem very high at £1000, if you could find cheaper you may be able to pay your debts off a lot quicker getting you to your Debt Free goal that little bit sooner.
Regard the best way for you to reach your goal you can try our online advice facility called Debt Remedy where you can complete a financial statement and be provided with advice on the best way to deal with your situation.
Good luck and keep us informed how things are going.

Hi Scared1980.
With reference to car insurance..... don't forget to phone up and haggle.
Like Martin says " There is no such thing as a fixed price with insurance "
I did this and saved over £200 pounds on qouted price.
Give it a try, you have nothing to lose but possibly money to save.
All the best.
furWhy do people feel the need to keep up with the Jones's ?? Why do some people feel the need to out do there friends and family ?? is this real happiness ??0 -
