Gym Contract

I have taken out a 12mth gym contract but find that I am not using it as much as I got a new job and have to travel everyday. IS there any thing that I can do to cancel the subscription or have I signed and thats that. I read the terms an dconditions and they say you can only cancel with a doctors letter, is there any loopholes or clauses that I could use to get out of it?

    Break a leg? :D

Seriously, what do the terms and conditions state happens at the end of the 12 months? Does the contract renew automatically unless you given written notice that you don't want to renew it? If so, how much notice do you have to give? Gym contracts that state you can only cancel the contract under such extreme conditions as a medical condition verified by a doctor's letter should be avoided at all costs.

gym contracts are the biggest pain in the !!!! to get out of, and my advice is only sign up to the rolling contracts, which are done doing a minimum of 3 months, and then it renews every month thereafter
