Tesco Internet Phone - £3.97 Instore with £5 call credit included?!

Bit strange this - but total bargain, nabbed one in the Dingwall tesco tonight... this is the more expensive Handset model (not the cheaper headset guff)

And the fact it contains £5 calltime is even better a bargain - I'm away to test it out to see if it works with skype...

I've always wondered if these will work with Skype...

    Keep us posted!!

Ok so the tesco site doesnt seem to sign up - ill phone tomorrow and ask - but skype works flawlessly and it sounds really not too bad!!! well happy with this.

If you want to use it on skype then get the CallMe drivers from here

(using the drivers means that it has full control over skype from the keypad!)

Ok the site definately isn't working to sign me up for Tesco Internernet Phone so i worked around it by downloading the software and registering on that.

Also, just noticed they offer a package for uk anytime calls for £5 a month... Not a stunning bargain but handy for those who quickly want access to a second line i guess.
The call quality isn't crystal clear but its not glitchy either - i'd put it on the same clarity as a mobile phone. Can't be the handset since it was much clearer with skype.

Thanks for this one, I'll check out my local Tesco this afternoon.
  • I saw this in Bristol at the reduced price (thought it was £4.97), but elsewhere is was at £9.97 (or whatever). I asked for the price to be checked and it came out at the higher price.

I know there have been problems before where till price is not at the shelf price. Couldn't be bothered to persue it at the time
