I have looked several times for poppy seeds to add to my bread. I have looked in the baking isle and the herbs and spice isle, but I can't find any. The assistants don't know either!
It's a Tesco Extra so I am sure they must have them somewhere.
Many thanks

I have never found them in Tesco - even the huge ones. I have only ever found them in Holland and Barrett or Julian Graves. I bought some recently in JG - they last for ages.
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

If it's a Tesco Extra, most of them have a kind of fancy ingredients aisle, usually has stuff like vanilla pods and cripplingly expensive vinegar-I've seen poppy seeds there, but haven't looked for them for a while. If you still don't have any luck, then a health food shop would be my next stop0

I've never found them in tesco ether and mine is huuuuuge - nasty things anyway - just get caught in your teeth. I buy the tesco three seed mix and chuck a handful inI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080

they used to be with the baking things but last time i went they were reduced to about £0.09p and had all gone so maybe they have stopped stocking them0

Ours were still in the baking section last time I bought them, although this was last month. They were next to the boxes of gelatine sachets.
I noticed some were saying they were being discontinued in their stores but ours were still full price at 38p.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

In my tesco they were beside the baking bits. But in Sainsburys they were beside the herbs and spices. I asked in H&B and she said there was a nationwide shortage.....
It was the size of a v small packet of crisps. No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

a second vote vote for Chinese or Asian supermarkets/shops if you've any nearby
also, if you're going to be using a lot of them, try your local Health Food store, mine ordered me a 1 Kilo bag for around £30
