I wanna Universal Contour Wrap

The beauty salon at my gym do them. Their claims are amazing. Lose 6 inches or they'll do the wrap again for free. One woman on the leaflet claimed to have lost 18 inches  . I googled it and they suggest you have 3 seperate ones done about 7-10 days apart to really appreciate the benefits (they would say that!!) lol
Are they a waste of money? Do they really work? What are your experiences?

Getting older is inevitable, growing up is optional :rotfl:

I have a friend who went for one of these before Christmas, and to be honest she was a bit disappointed. I can't remember how much she paid, but I know I thought it was a lot of money!! She was definitely persuaded by the "lose at least 6 inches or get your money back" promise.
But when it came to it, they measured so many different parts of her body that she lost maybe half an inch here, and a quarter inch there, which all added up to just over 6 inches but wasn't the dramatic inch loss she'd been hoping for. I think she felt a bit swindled, like she really deserved her money back but they kind of "fixed it" so she had lost just over 6 inches overall.
Obviously everyone's different, and it may work much better for some than others. But I got the impression that however well it works, it's only a temporary inch-loss anyway, so may be a good idea before a party to fit into an outfit better, but probably won't last much longer than a few days.MFiT-T5 #52 - aiming to clear mortgage completelyJanuary 2019: £19620 ~ November 2021: £0.00!0 -
I had the universal contour wrap nearly 15 years ago just before my wedding day. As post above says, 6 inches is nothing when you are measured over about 20 different points in your body, and all the 1/8th of an inch adds up! You could lose an inch off each arm when it all adds up, and you are bound to lost 1-2 inches off the flabby bits (bust, waist, hips, thighs etc). They even wrapped my head to get a loss off under my chin!
I was put in a steam thingy for 20 minutes, then wrapped, then put in this tracksuit thing and put on toning tables for half an hour. I think I lost about 13 inches in my first session, and 6 each or so in the next 2 sessions. My 3 sessions cost me £90.
You have to follow their toxin-free diet (otherwise they will not guarantee it)...no tea, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, smoking... that's before and after the wraps.
It was great for my wedding day. My skin felt great, and I felt less "wobbly" in my dress! I would not do it for any other reason than to fit in a dress for a special ocassion. I would have thought the £130 or so it costs now would do better with 4 or 5 months at Rosemary Conley or Weight watchers classes if you are looking to lose weight.
After all £130 for a guarantee inch loss for a month, against 4-5 months at a slimming club when (depending on how much you have to lose) you could lose 2 or 3 stone.....I know where I would put my money.
Not sure if it is the same nowadays, but you couldn't wash afterwards (24 hours I think....actually, it may have been longer - I can't remember now). If you do do it, do a big wee before they wrap you. On my last session, I was wrapped and half way through needed to do a wee. Obviously I couldn't because I was wrapped up and I had the most horrendous backache. I didn't enjoy the last session at all.
Having said that - yes, it does work. But only if you follow their strict "after-plan" and who is to say that you do or don't?? I don't know how they can prove it? And yes, it is temporary, but it just depends on what you are doing it for.0
