DMP proforma?

We would like to go down the route of self-administrating a DMP with a view to negotiating with the companies reducing their interest/debt owed - I know it won't be easy (neither is our other option of IVA). However, I do recall reading one or two post where people have attempted this themselves using the proforma letters on the national debt helpline. I have tried to download these letters but struggled, does anybody know of any other proforma I can use? Can anyone give us any advice/guidance on this??
thanks
thanks

Hi
I am doing my DMP myself, it is a fight to begin with as all your creditors will try and bully you into paying more.
Fill in the form on this link for your SOA and enclose with the letter

Can't find the initial letter we sent out as it was quite a while ago - but I'm sure someone will be along with the right link.
Good luck - it does get easier0 -
thankyou for the post-suspect we will go via the formal route of DMP via CCSS- all getting too big...0

I hat IVAs as you are tied in for 5 yrs, 5 yrs is a looonnng time and who knows what will happen?mother_hen wrote: »Having looked closely a IVA is our only option (if agreed), thanks for advice though.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -
I don't know much about IVAs but they can run for longer than 5 years I think Martin has posted about them on the site somewhere - definately a huge step to think about much bigger than the decision for a DMP.
If they fail there is a bigger risk of bankrupcy being the only option and the amounts you pay can go up on an IVA.
Has a charity or a company recommended an IVA?0 -
Hi Mother Hen, Many people have found CCCs and the legal people on the CAB website very helpful!
hope it all goes well, keep posting!

We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
