selling endowment

hi all back in 1993 we took out an endowment with a company called Colonial Mutual, who have been bought out by Winterthur Life this is under achieving massively and i want to sell/surrender i have sought quotes from a few companies that buy policies but no body seems to be interested and i cannot get a quote could anyone tell me why? is it the companies involved?
a few details>>>>>
started 1/11/93
matures 1/11/2017
bonuses £2094
premium £117.65 monthly unchanging
death ben £53k
sum assured £18 179
with profits:confused:
surrender value £ 12228
is the industry not buying policies?
any info would be appreciated thanx rob

    They only buy good policies.
    What is the interest rate on your mortgage?And what are the forecast maturity values of the endowment?
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

    the interest rate is 5.39 % fixed until 30/06/08
    and best i can recall for the maturity, is best possible return is 31k a shortfall of 22k from a policy that should reach 53 k

    You'll need to call them up to get the maturity forecasts.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
