Remortgage now or wait until move?

I'm having a similar dilemma in that my fixed rate ends on 31-May. I want remortgage now as current lender C&G is so uncompetitive. My house is under offer but our purchase fell through last week so we are looking again.
I'm wondering if I should just remortgage now for current house but take apply for a higher amount (+£30K) so i can then port easily to my new house.
Any thoughts?0 -
Again, I wouldn't remortgage now. It's 10 weeks till your mortgage product expires; you might have sold by then.
You would be remortgaging for the sake of saving a month or so's interest rate differential.
See whether your current lender will give you a free (or very cheap) product switch to something with no ties.0
