any ideas how to get westminster safari park tickets and travel inn discounts?

Hi all!

Well my week off with my uvver arf and our 2 boys is going to be hectic, no holiday as cant afford it this year, so doing the days out thing and visiting some relatives aswell.

SO i need some money off codes or something to use at travel inn, as we need a family room for 3 nights (47.95 per night). Then you have breakfast on top of that (6.99 each, kids under 10 free). So any help would be great.

And also our boys are driving us mad to go and see the white tigers at westmidlands safari park, been on the website and its going to cost us about £58 just to get in and buy the wrist bands for rides cos they charge extra for that! So we REALLY need help with this one too, as we want to be able to go to a few different places and at this rate we will be at home all week!

Also any other ideas for a cheap and cheerful day out would be greatly received, we are in Rugby, warwickshire and we will be travelling to manchester for the bank holiday.

No vouchers, sorry. But why eat at the Travel Inn? We would have had to pay for 3 breakfasts (eldest son is too old to get it free) so I found out where the nearest Tesco was, and we all had breakfast there for £7 odd.

Some ideas.

If you use a travel inn near a Morrisons with a cafe go there for breakfast. We often go out for breakfast (cheaper than going out for dinner) and depending what everyone eats we rarely spend more than £10 - £15. I often share a big breakfast with my youngest, cheaper to get one big rather than two smaller ones. I am sure other supermarkets do breakfast as well, Tesco almost sure.

As for accomadation here is a suggestion. We started youth hostelling this year as a family. When we have a few free days I pick an area and email or ring all the hostels in the area to see who has a spare room. The dearest we have paid was £50 a night but we had a whole building to ourselves, the cheapest was £35 for which we had a lovely big room, bunks for the boys and 2 single beds for ourselves.

Hostels now are specifically aimed at families, lots of family rooms, some own bathroom. We have met soem great people on our travels.

We use the self catering kitchens to cook our own breakfast, everyone helps so its part of the fun (but breakfasts at hostels are only about £4). The evening meal we tend to have a the hostel, our lads have huge appetites, generally about £5 for 3 courses, mostly home cooked good quality food and plenty of chose.

The Manchester Science museum is a must and its free. Going on the trams is another must because of the novelty factor.

Try travelodge they have some £10.00 Rooms, Travel Inn doesn't do deals,

Try Innkeeperslodge you get a free continental breakfast with them and the price seems to be about £2 more than travelinn.

We have used Asda when staying at Bristol Cribs Causeway (it is also good as a Motorway service station - somewhereto eat, shop, toilets and petrol) and BHS when staying in Durham but thats when we stay with Travellodge (who also do £26 nights).

Also have a look as Holiday inn express as some of their nights work out at £39 inc breakfast.

If you are looking for accommodation in manchester dont forget that places like Oldham have "lodge" accommodation and are only 30 min drive same can be said for places like Knutsford m/way service station as its motorway almost to the city cntr.

I have had a three nights for the price of two deal at Travel Inn. It was a couple of years ago, before they merged to become Premier Travel Inn. Not as good as a £10 a room deal, but they never seem to be at the right place/date for me anyway. lol

When staying at a Premier Travel Inn last week I took cereal, plastic bowls, spoons and bought a pint of milk.

Not too keen on the idea of a hostel to be honest, but good idea, the brekky at the supermarket is good as there is a tesco next door!

My sons are 6 and 2. I may have a word and ask at the travel inn if they do a discount at any point.
