Does the box have the Argos item number on it?

wow im out of breath reading your post without any punctuation but for any kind of warranty claim you will need proof of purchase as evidence not only where you bought it but WHEN you bought it so as Ally has said your only hope will be if you bought it using a credit or debit card and you can show them a bank statement showing the payment they might accept that as proof if you have the box with the argos sticker or you could ask your credit card company for a copy of the credit card slip but you will probably be charged for that but if you paid for it cash id say you've not got much chance but if you were to be sneaky you could buy the exact same unit again from argos if it is still available and then take the faulty one back for a refund using your new receipt although thats a little bit naughty but not totally immoral if it is within warranty and you have genuinely lost the receiptwe bought a portable dvd player for my son for christmas its been working ok then we went to charge it yesterday it wasn't charging there was no charging light on it so we tried to use it using the in car charger still nothing any idea how we stand we cant find the reciept but we still have the box

If you still have the original box with the Argos Catalogue Number on (7 digits ###/####) then take it to your nearest Argos store (with a proof of purchase if you can find one) and see what they can do. The gist is that the Customer Service Advisor has to be satisfied that it has come from Argos.
If you cannot find a proof of purchase then I would advise going to the store you purchased the item from to see if they can trace it.
It may be the case, though, that if there is a repair facility available for the item then it will have to go off for repair before any replacements or refunds are given.
Hope this helps.[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

I find not reading things out loud helps with the breathing, we were taught how to do it a school - give it a try.
All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!0 -
Thanks for the tip - I'll certainly give it a try. They didn't teach us that at my school ........ but they DID teach us how to punctuate our sentences. :rolleyes:I find not reading things out loud helps with the breathing, we were taught how to do it a school - give it a try.
OK, so I was being sarcastic when I said I was out of breath (sorry, donnylucy
) and I'm not the kind of person to nit-pick about every little grammatical mistake, but when sentences contain NO FULL STOPS it just doesn't flow well and makes it more difficult to read.
Sorry if I'm being unreasonable, but I don't think it's too much trouble to stick a full stop at the end of a sentence. I just think it's good practice and common courtesy, especially when you're asking for advice.
