Altho I'm the parent, my lot are all grown so I feed four adults. One has a particularly demanding manual job & is outside all day, so he gets very hungry & the other two can eat for England if it's what they fancy:o
We had a bash at each choosing a meal & it seemed to work OK, but it's a task getting them all in the same place at the same time to talk food, or if that does happen, to then take it seriously....my own fault I guess, cuz they've grown up with my favourite quote of "What have we got for dinner today? Sawdust & hay for dinner today!" Always watched The Woodentops--couldn't abide Andy Pandy:rotfl:
Seems that this week, a couple of them are on leave so I'll have another bash at getting some ideas from them......probably involve a lot of roasts, toad in the hole & lasagne but hey--it's a start

Gosh, everyone seems really organised!
I should really have a weekly menu, I usually put off thinking about dinner until a little voice asks what it's going to be. Then I panic!
But these are the main meals in our house
Korma - with mushrooms, sweetcorn, sultanas, carrots, tinned pineapple, onions, peppers, and half a jar of korma sauce. We have to have that twice a week, or not at all, as the sauce doesn't freeze at all well.
Pan fried pizza, with mash spud, and either baked beans, or frozen veggies. (My daughter will not eat chips under any circumstances - wish I could follow her example!!)
Jacket spud, beans, salad, and anything else lurking in the bottom of the fridge.
Veggie fingers or burgers, mash, baked beans, or frozen veg.
Spag bol - only with the "spag" substituted for different pasta shapes - less mess!
Savoury crumble and peas.
"Puffy pizza" (made with puff pastry) oven chips (or mash for she who won't eat chips!), garlic bread, and salad.
I should experiment more, but my daughter is very stubborn, and won't try anything new at home. But I could put almost anything in a picnic basket, and she would eat the lot, and ask for more. Kids are strange!0 -
