Anyone else use Basics flour for everything? I've never had a problem with it: bread, pastry, you name it. I never bother getting special bread flour or anything like that.0

That's a bit off. I missed a trick with some marked down pizzas in Mr S once, 20p each! I was behind the guy who'd grabbed them all (huge stack) in the checkout aisle, but I didn't start giving him earache, just thought 'Good for you mate, wish I'd been quicker.'

37.5% is the minimum permitted for gin so you won't get any weak gins as such. Premium gins are generally 40-42% and this does bring out a lot more flavour but of course you do pay a lot more.
As with most spirits the key thing is not to skimp on the mixer...no point in paying several pounds for a bottle of gin then ruin it by saving a few pence on a mixer. A slice of lime and a cube or two of ice also helps

I tried the Chicken soup around quarter of an hour ago - it isn't the most palatable of foods and it promptly was poured down the sink. The Cream of Tomato Soup is delicious though - on a par with Heinz's.Debt as of 02/02/2012

Well it's all down to trying out these Basics ranges - we all have different tastes and can tolerate or even enjoy different things.
Remember it's 20% of the price of the Heinz version!

Today we had the choc muffins they were lovely,will be getting them again!
Also bought the cream cheese,that was lovely on a poppy seed roll...bought the curry sauce also..9p!TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0 -

I use it in nearly everything. The only thing I don't use it in is the breadmaker, the bread comes out like a mutant cake!! Basics Frozen Mince is gross.
Tinned Toms, Beans and Peas are nice though.0
