does original OR review I&E for IPA?

Hi All
Would anyone know if when your I&E are reviewed, because of income changes, is it the original OR,who implemented the IPA or will it be whoever is available. I ask as i have left my employment and hope to get another job pretty soon. The wage will be slightly lower for the first few mths then it should rise to above what i was previously earning. Now my OR was, i feel, pretty generous in my allowances(although i did not claim for everything)and as my case has now gone to the trustee, will it get passed back to the same OR if they have to review my I&E or will the present trustee dealing with my case handle it?.
I am loathe to tell them to start with as i have old worded IPA form(tell of changes until discharge)and am hoping discharge will be through by the time my wages increase.Of course i could just go the whole hog and try to get rid of the IPA all together. As things stand i just dont want to disturbe things as it has gone so nice and quiet;) .Dalip

If you let your own OR know of any changes in circumstance, I think they'd deal with it unless either (a) they'd left, or (b) you've been discharged & there's no active work being done on your case. In some ways, having a different OR may work to your advantage, as that would make it more likely your case was assessed fairly. I think whoever assesses your case won't disallow you something you've received an allowance for, they'll just be looking at changes in your surplus income.

I wouldn't delay telling the trustee or the OR if I were you. They can easily find out from the Inland Revenue if your source of pay or amount changes. You have 21 days to let them know, so I'd tell them you're not working (if you haven't already done so), then contact them again when you start work, & again when your salary goes up. I've already told the people who collect my IPA that my salary will drop as of 1 April, & will be informing the OR nearer the time. :)

    Thanks wdiag.
I am quite happy to pay the £50 per mth thats why i am loathe to disturb things. My file has been passed to the trustee so i have been told all contact must now be with them.Just wondered if it got passed back again. We have enough money to pay all march bills(which i hope by then to be back in work)so not much will have changed except my employer.I tried sending an e-mail to my new case officer a few wks ago about a creditor ringing me.Did not get a reply but that creditor has not rung since.Suppose i should ring, but have big fear of people in authority:eek:.Thanks for your reply it was appriciated.Dalip

Once the trustee & the OR are aware of you not working, you won't be expected to pay your IPA until you start working again. When you start a new job, you'll probably have to do another I&E, at which point you can list any expenses that may have increased, such as fares/transport costs to work, clothing & lunch costs at work. :)

Yes i forgot all those but as i said he was pretty generous with my h/k so i would expect him to cut that back(if it's allowed)but that said all the utility bills will have gone up by then. Will give them a ring in the morn. Thanks for the advice.Dalip;)

    Hi Dalip

I'm going through yet another review of my IPA as I have just moved house. It is now the RTLU who are dealing with it - it won't be going back to my original OR.

    Hi Neko
Yes i am with the RTLU as well. I was only £18 over before so even if i do start work soon my outgoings will increase as i now have to pay towards car costs ect.I just did not want to "rock the boat" and have to go through it all again.Dalip
What happens if i get some snotty bloke at RTLU who does not allow my birthdays/holiday fund(from what i have read i was lucky to get it allowed)where do i go from there?Dalip

Sorry here i go again:o .So what you are saying is they can(or i can) increase my outgoings thus making an IPA unlikely but they can not decrease my allowances that have already been agreed:cool: .I like it:D Dalip

As far as I can make out, they can only decrease/increase an existing allowance if your change of circumstances affects that particular thing. So for instance, if you've been given X amount for childcare, it'll stay at that figure unless something has happened specifically to your childcare expenses to warrant changing them up or down. There's no reason for the OR to review your whole assessment, just whether your change of circumstances has changed the amount of surplus you'll have available.

I don't recall getting a copy of my assessment breakdown when I got my IPA form, so I might ask my OR for a copy of it this week to refresh my memory on what was allowed & what wasn't, ready for when I fill in my I&E for my change of circumstances. :)

Yes i got a run down(an exact copy of what i had originally put down)so i can refer back to it,very handy, especially at my old age when memory is not so good:o .No nothing has changed in terms of housekeeping but utility bills like rent, rates and water will go up at the end of this month.Plus before we had a company car now that has gone, we have had to buy one and will now have the upkeep of it so that has to be added as we(husband and myself) will be on the same wage. Thanks for that Dalip
