"Proper" sized toasters?

Hi Everyone,
Newbie here so please go easy!!
I am looking for a 4 slice toaster that can toast a full size slice of bread.
Just returned a Russell Hobbs to Tesco because 1 inch of the bread sat above the toaster, requiring me to take mid-toast and turn it upside down.
Tried all the toasters available at Tesco and each and every one (choice wasn't great though!!) had the same problem.
Bread we use isn't exceptional, just normal Warburtons
Anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance.

hi
I cannot offer any help, but I agree completely !! (I thought it was just me)
we have 4 sliced toaster, and hubbys normal white bread does fine, I only eat warburtons wholemeal and cut the top off before I toast it so that it all goes in, - I think it is just warburtons bread that is slightly larger
maybe we should petition them to make their bread slightly smaller and put an extra slice in the make the difference0 -
i notice this too, my last 3 toasters did/do this. i too thought it was me. always a soft strip along the side. ive bough cheap and dear ones. all the sameA happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Easy answer is buy a four slice 'long slot' toaster and turn your bread on it's side when you put it in - you'll only get two slices at a time but you do get Warburton's properly toasted.
For example - http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/invt/0184971 for a cheapo
At this price if you are desperate for 4 slices in one go, just buy 2 toasters. All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!0 -
It's got to be a Dualit - cost a bomb but go on for ever. The only loaf it doesn't toast without a turn is my own Panasonic large slice which is very tall, everything else is fine0
