More worries =O(

We emptied our bank account last week including £200 overdraft.... have just checked the account and theres loads of paypal payments come out that were totally forgotten about as paypal takes a while to take funds from account.... I'm really worried now as the account is past its overdraft and don't know how to explain it since it looks like we took out all our money on purpose and have spent past the over draft on purpose (which we haven't)

Also, in the past year we have been using cashback sites.... we have basically been signing up and depositing on bingo sites but getting our money back plus more through the cashback site, so we were certain we wouldn't lose any money.... thing is all the sites we deposited to are going to show on the account... if we explain the cashback thing and that we didn't lose any money and knew that we wouldnt before we did it... will we avoid a BRO?

Thanks

a very worried and stressed Laura

  • Don't worry, Laura - just explain how the cashback thing works. When my friend went BR not too long ago, she told her OR about Quidco & gave her the link. The OR was so interested, she thinks she may have signed up herself. :D She wasn't penalised at all. The ORs aren't expecting you to be able to account for every penny - they just want to see your spending patterns & whether you've been frivolous with what you had, spending money you knew you wouldn't be able to pay back. I very much doubt that the amounts spent on cashback in order to get more money back will concern them. :)

    As for your overdraft, it's too late to worry about that now, as if you put any of the money back, it could be seen as giving a creditor preferential status. Just explain what happened to the OR. I think they understand you can't always take all possible charges into account in the last few days before you go BR. If the bank contact you, just apologise & say it'll be sorted out in a few days (you're going BR on 10 March, so you won't be telling a lie) & make sure no other payments leave the account before you go to court. :)

    Thanks wherediditallgo... This week is just going so slow, I have pretty much convinced myself something is going to go against us... I hope I feel a bit better after the court date is over, but then I guess I will still be worrying about the OR vbmenu_register("postmenu_9082613", true);
