Well basically I feel that I have reached a sort of crossroads on my debt lightbulb moment that has been going on for 2 months now!
I am at the point where I am struggling so much I could go on a DMP/IVA.
But I am v stubbornly trying to get myself sorted without resorting to these things. I desperately do not want to go the DMP route even though I know it works for so many people. I know it sounds a bit silly but I want no NEED a new car sometime in the next year or two, mine is so unreliable (I so wish I bought a new car when I was spending like there was no tomorrow but anyway) realistically I can not save up the money needed this would take years! So I am trying to avoid a DMP due to the credit score demolishing that that causes with the aim of eventually getting finance/loan for a car.
BUT I have two credit cards with large balances, large APRs and they are just about to finish a 0% offer so they are about to start murdering me with interest. I can not get any more credit as have had a few blips - being in my overdraft for months on end, going over my limit a few times and I had a late payment on one credit card this month. V annoying.
My bank have been v helpful and have advised that I need to pay off my overdraft to boost my credit rating and keep my accounts running perfectly with no blips for a few months then I should be able to get consolidation loan/tart the cards.
I have not much income left over once all the debts and direct debits have been taken out.
So I have a £1300 overdraft that I need to pay off ASAP - any suggestions??
This is assuming that I can continue to keep making my credit card min payments as that is still very much hanging in the balance at the moment.
If I find that I can't then a DMP beckons!
I am:
Trying to get a second job - this is the main thing that will help me pay off the od so fingers crossed.
Mystery shopping
Ebaying any tat that I think will possibly get a bid
About to start doing paid surveys and pay to click sites - this will keep me busy in my lunch hours
Trying to spend as little as possible! I have £180 in my budget for living on each month - trying to get this down to around £100-£120.
Any other suggestions not of the robbing the bank variety??
