Tax Code BR

in Cutting tax
I have a company pension on which I pay tax and against which my personal allowance is set as it is my main source of income.
I am about to start a part time (25 hours per week) job and will have to pay tax on all the earnings from that job. Presumably the two are treated entirely separately by HMRC and that the code they will apply to my part time job is BR leaving my pension unchanged at 543L?
Am I correct in those assumptions does anyone know?
Any advice gratefully received.
