How can I remove hair dye please?

Hi, My daughter, 13, has beautiful natural blond hair.

She decided to have some dark brown 'slices' put in which my niece did for her. She only used a semi-permanent colour.

My daughter now wants rid of the coulour, is there any product which will do this without bleaching her hair? Or will she just have to wait for it to fade?

I wondered if one of those 'blonding' shampoos might speed up the process?

I'd suggest using an anti dandruff shampoo, they're renowned for stripping colour and won't affect the rest of her hair. It will take a few washes but it will help fade the colour quicker. You might find that once it's washed out the dye has "stained" her hair somewhat and it might end up with a green or orange tinge. If that's the case then using a purple tinted shampoo for blond hair can help.

My friends a hairdresser for vidal sasoon, adn any disaster diy hair dyes, they use vosene shampoo, it will strip any colour off hair.

Anti-dandruff shampoo works wonders apparently but it depends how long the colour has been on the hair. For best results it should be done straight away.

I'm a natural blonde and started dying my hair at 13. I wish I hadn't. I will never get my blonde hair back unless I go to a salon and maybe have the colour stripped from my hair which costs money and to be honest my hair is very fragile and I don't want to put any more strain on it.

HELP!!!!!

Last night I put on a light brown wash in wash out on my hair (it said it would last up to three washes). All I wanted was to tone down my blonde (I've got light brown roots!) until I can get to the hairdressers. Anyway I washed the dye out and it was just wrong, so I did the old Fairy Liquid trick (always used to work!) and it seemed to calm it down.

I have woken up this morning to very definite tinges of ORANGE! Well not really orange, more of a bronzey colour. I am off to have a shower now, and will try several rounds of Vosene, and I have also got one of those purple shampoos, so will try that too.

Does anyone have any other ideas?!!

maybe one of those colour boosting conditioners will help make it a little bit more brown?! or just washing it lots and lots.........

Sorry, forgot to update. It's sorted!

Vosene really does strip colour, I could actually see it in the suds! So after three lots of Vosene, two purple shampoos and two lots of conditioner ... I have the perfect colour! I hadn't even planned for it to be this colour, but it is just what I have wanted for ages!!! It is kind of an ash blonde, looks great!

I now need to photograph the colour to let my hairdresser try to replicate it on Monday! x
