ker-knockers, clackers, klackers etc..

My sister just reminded me about these toys/weapons from the 70`s after seeing several children playing with them.

Does anyone know where I might find some. Online would be favourite.

Thanks in anticipation

Oh God, I can still remember the pain in my wrists from those  they were great fun though.

I'll have a look for you and post back if I have any luck

    Many thanks..
I have both of those on watching now.
I realise its asking a lot but does anyone know where I might buy them new.
My sister said she saw several sets of children playing with them while driving to work.
I can only assume they must me re-released.

:D wow that takes me back I remember them as Ker Knockers I was in hospital when the were all the rage in the 70's and was desprate for some but when i came out I think they were banned or something because of injures caused & some shattering ( they were a bit like billiard balls on string)
by the way do any of you remember another great toy that was a plastic ball type thing that to use you had to pull handles apart and the ball would zoom up nylon string to the other end to another person who was hold handles at other end they had to pull strings apart quick to wizz it back or it really hurt their knuckles:D wonder if they still sell it any where it was great fun.

quote from one of the listings '
PROTECTIVE GLOVE SHOULD BE WORN WHEN USING AS THESE SOLID BALLS CAN HURT.'

    I'm saying no more!

    I remember those...
It was a rugby ball shaped projectile (bright orange if memory serves) I got bitten by the ball many times.
Unfortunately I cannot put a name to it.
  • You tend to see these in seaside shops, but they are not the same as they used to be. They now come on the end of 2 plastic triangles on a stick. Same principle for doing them but less dangerous, but in my mind a lot less fun. They were fantastic. Remember having contests with my Dad as to who could keep them going the longest (I won obviously!!!)
