Edexcel

Any PGCE students or graduates of subjects that are widely taken at GCSE could apply to be markers, its tight turn around, but is good money for 3 weeks work.

Apply at http://associates.edexcel.org.uk/home/ I did it last year and got offered a contract at a higher rate this year, and its pretty easy once you've done about 20.

Hope this helps someone

It doesn't appear to allow you to apply if your a current student which is a shame as otherwise it looks very promising and could help me with my career.

If you are on a degree course try applying to OCR exam board. For some subjects where the exam is marked online some questions are marked on line by non qualified teachers. Details on recruitment on ocr.org.uk.

They seem to need you to have the degree too. Its a shame as I could definitely mark GCSE Business Studies but I am sure I would be more than capable in other areas if only I could find the right place to apply.
  • Awww this looks really good. Shame the hours are so full on though.

For 'Specialist marker' The one for which you only need a degree, you have to commit to 25-30hours a week...And I think a 70hour week for me is just too much :(

Good post though, brilliant for anyone not in full time employment.

**edit** after thought, you should post this in the Student saving forum, I'm sure a few there would benefit, esp PGCE students in need of some cash....of post grads
