Thanks for all responses so far. Just as a matter of interest, does anybody know if the fraud check rules have changed recently or is this just an excuse I have been offered?

All I know is that C & G mortgages were taken over by Lloyds TSB very recently. That might (although it shouldn't) have caused some admin problems perhaps. As far as I am aware the money laundering regulations haven't changed.

ccygirl - when did you submit your application to C&G?

I submitted it about 8 weeks before, but my broker cocked up, the valuation was delayed by 2 weeks and i was charged the application fee twice. Applied in Nov and completed early Jan. Took me longer to get my application fee refunded!

Thanks for letting me know, I had heard a rumour that C&G were a little slow with processing things, but as you too have found this can be in part down to other parties that are involved! McKeags now have everything they need so there had better be no more excuses, particularly as the offer expires next month!
