Just read this post - sorry to hear that you were abused in this way - although I cannot say that I am at all surprised....0

SpoiltParrot - technically you had every right to call the Police as the security man had committed an offence by his behaviour behaving in that manner.
It is a public order offence.
I would also write a strong letter to the Borough Council about it.0 -
Is this the one that everyone's recommended?
Macclesfield Road A538 Hough Lane ,SK9 2LH
or this one?
Moat Hall Farm,
Chelford Road,
Knutsford,
WA16 8SU
Thanks0 -
Hi its the following one
Moat Hall Farm,
Chelford Road,
Knutsford,
WA16 8SU
It gets really busy so if your selling get there early!!
I think its fab, there is a mixture of new items being sold and second hand goods.0 -
My wife and I went to the Chelford car boot sale this morning. It was really poor. Calling it a car boot sale is an exaggeration. I have been to bigger and better jumble sales. The car boot sale amounted to about five stalls. They say one man's rubbish is another man's treasure but in this case you would be hard pushed to find anything that was not picked up from or should not have been put on the rubbish tip. There were lots of traders selling cheap, tat items that could probably be found more cheaply on the internet. In short it was rubbish and not worth getting up early on a Sunday morning for. Will not be going again, ever.
Judging by the previous comments, it seems that we inadvertently went to the market and car boot sale. Will report back on the proper Chelfont car boot sale.0 -
I spoke to Scott the organiser of Chelford car boot today by phone and while putting my ideas across to him, he said, "your welcome" and put the phone down on me. I did not even finish what I was saying so where did the "your welcome" come from?? I'm not the type of person to take such obnoxious attitude and ignore it, so I called him back and said, "Hi, I just called you with a business idea but you said, "your welcome" and put the phone down on me which I found rude" to which (besides a few other words) he said, "I can't help you, I'm the organiser and the owner of the field is in Barbados (the main boss I take it) and without a "good by" again he slammed the phone down. I wonder if the owner on Holiday knows of his stinking attitude or are they as bad as each other?? I'm glad in a way that I got this type of attitude as I don't deal with unproffesional arrogance like this guy has. SAD LITTLE MAN!!0

Firstly, the Car Boot in Chelford Village has nothing to do with the massive one in the farmer's field outside Chelford.
Further, in reply to a couple of queries, whilst the venue is advertised as March - December the owner moves it to Hough Lane in Wilmslow for a few weeks at the end of the year for legal reasons.
The owner is not the most personable you would like to meet but don't beat yourself up over bad experiences with him. His staff are usually very pleasant and when the chips are down this is the best market in the area for private sellers and buyers.
We are experienced Car Booters at both sides of the table and can thoroughly reccomend this one when it is on the Chelford field but not so when it is in Wilmslow.
Don't let people like Scott irk you, be above them and go and enjoy yourselves when it starts up again.0 -

i went to chelford last sunday and it was very busy and a lovely hot day! i visited the car boot in the big field not the small one at the cattle market.
i have to say that it must have been the owner who i had a run in with a few years ago when he was being very verbally aggressive and racist towards two asian men, for absolutely no reason at all. i cant abide bullying in any form, so pointed this out to him and he then turned on me. luckily i can hold my own and i did ask him at one point had he got out of bed the wrong side that morning! the finale was the two men who he was having a go at ended up standing with me and my partner whilst he was ranting and raving at us! did cause a lot of laughter from other car booters, mr aggressive then decided to stomp off.
he had already had a go at my partner when he was parking up as he didnt park in a nano second and made the inexcusable error of not being precisely where he told him to park! the air was blue let me tell you, from him not us tho!
however mr aggressive aside, chelford is a great car boot, as with all car boots you get what you get depending on who is selling on the day. some days you are lucky and some you are not!
i got a beautiful bevelled black mirror 4ft in size for £15 last week, as they were classed as seconds, very small mark that you can hardly see and an absolute bargain.
it gets really hot there so whether you are buying or selling sun cream is essential!
all the other staff are lovely and i wouldnt let mr aggressive put you off going!:rotfl:Sealed Pot Member 1269VSP... TO UPDATE!
