Self-Employed I & E

Hi all
Are there any extras you can claim on your I & E if you are self-employed?
I work in construction and have to buy my own worlk clothes and tools etc out of my own money,I was just wondering if these would be allowed by the OR?

Hi Andy,

If they're expenses incurred as part of your job then include them. Ideally the O.R likes to see domestic and business expenses detailed seperately, but it doesn't really matter, as long as you explain what your self-employed expenses relate to.

If they're allowable for tax purposes, the O.R will accept them.
