Sugarspun/ chillin-nutta Sorry if I am being a bit thick, but what is this "craft club" that you have ordered a few bits from?
Polly - how dare you leave us!!!! What are we going to do without you?
Faff - welcome to the thread - its fab isn't it!!!
I ordered from halfcost.co.uk. I didn't order the little card bags because I'm an admirer, not a maker, of handmade cards. But the stuff I did order arrived safely and it's fine. The card bags are a bit less than six inches square, I think, and they're 2 for a penny plus delivery - and there's a code on the discounts board for 15% off.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

FIL loved his card everyone - I'm so happy, it's nice to see him chuffed (and we all had a lovely day out in London)
So, I've not seen my Mum in ages, and we've not yet had a chance to make cards together, but me trekking all the way to Fife and back in just a weekend is a bit much, so we've decided to meet in the middle. Basically, we're having a card making weekend in York. Hotel is all booked, and I'm looking forward to it... anyone know of any good craft shops in York?In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!0 -
No Maggie Bob, but if you find some let me know for when I'm there in a couple of weeks!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... There's a Papermill shop in York. Lots of loose card and paper and great value for money! http://www.thepapermillshop.co.uk/locations/york.htm:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

Ooh... I'll have to check out that shop. I'm afraid it's out of town though in the designer outlet. I *think* there are buses going there though (although I'm a York resident who never goes to the designer outlet) or if you have a car it's not that far from the city centre (towards the university just off the ring road).
As for other shops... York is a little lacking on the craft front, but if you find any let me know. The upstairs of Boyes (on Godramgate) is like a haberdashery with fabric, etc, but it also stocks lots of ribbons and some scrapbooking stuff so it might be okay for cards too.
There is also a fantastic little shop called Duttons for Buttons http://www.duttonsforbuttons.co.uk/ if you like buttons! It's a tiny shop on Coppergate (sort of opposite and down the street a little from the main M&S.
There are of course the usual WH Smiths and Stationary Box, but apart from that I can't really think of any shops that sell crafty stuff. If you fancy a day trip to Leeds while you're both there that would be much better. There's some good craft supply stalls/shops in the indoor market (next to the Corn Exchange), and theres a great craft/haberdashery shop sort of opposite the market down an alley next to a shop called Out of This World (a veggie health food type supermarket). Leeds is only a 25 minute train and trains are approximately every 15-20 minutes.0
