Hi rainmac
I did the wallet from an a4 size card and i used these instructions but instead of cutting the ribbon slots i just put eyelets on the edges and threaded the ribbon through. http://katharina1704.blogspot.com/2008/01/tutorial-karte-fr-abdrucktausch.html
or my friend just uses an a4 sheet and turns up 2 1/2 inches along the long edge . Then folds in half if you get what i mean.

Hi
Can I ask you experts out there something??
How easy is it to actually use eyelets?? I kind of think I know how to do it but haven't tried and don't have any. But the main thing is what tool do you actually need?? I've seen so many different tools at different prices, though eyelets themselves don't seem too pricey.
Any help would be much appreciated especially if you can recommend he kit and where to get it from!! In fact I'd really love to hear about people's kit and what is useful/helpful generally so thank you all in advance!0 -

I fancied a go with eyelets so bought a really cheapie tool and it was rubbish so gave up! I'd love a crop a dile, may be on my Xmas pressie list - have no chance of getting it unless I buy it myself

I bought a set in a tin from Studio cards. I got it on offer but it is now selling for £10 and inside there are a good selection of tools. There is a mini hammer, a punch tool that has 3 sized heads with it, two different sized setting tools (they look like solid metal sticks with a raised star shape at one end), a pricking tool and a pair of tweezers and of course the tin to store it in. I had to buy a setting mat seperately (this fits in the tin for storage too)but that was only about £1.25.
I found it quite easy to use them. you have to pick the size of punch hole that is the same size as the eyelet, place the punch on the card where you want it then hit it with the hammer hard but not too hard (great for de-stressing), then place your eylet through the hole, turn your card over so that you are looking that the wrong side of the eyelet and using the correct sized setting tool and again hit it with the hammer so that the eyelet splits and seals to the card and you are done. Hope this helps.:heart2::rotfl: :rotfl: :heart2:I LOVE A BARGIN:heart2: :rotfl: :rotfl:TIME TO START SHOPPING FOR NEXT CHRISTMAS:dance: I LOVE THE SALES!!!!!:dance:0 -
