Hi all - blinking freezing here at the moment although that's largely to me turning the heating off a few weeks back just to spite Scottish Power who send me a stonking great bill last month.

Booked for a work day out on Friday, although I can't afford the events and things that have since been planned. The guys are talking about boat and bus tours as well as breakfast and dinner at our expense (work is paying for lunch). So, do I call off and say quite honestly, "Look I have £8 to last until the 15th" or do I tap into my sealed pots and Ebay earnings of about £40 and go?

I'm off to LA (competition prize!) in the Summer and I'm saving the pennies and Ebaying for that, so I really don't want to undo the work I've done to sit in a pub with the guys I work and watch them get more and more drunk while I sup tap water and worry about the walk home from Edinburgh Airport to mine (about 10 miles)
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Final bill £123.40... and thats without ever going near a pair of contact lenses! My prescription had changed so had to have new glasses. I did get them buy on get one free so got a pair of prescription sunglasses as well. Got my contact lense trial booked for a week on saturday but seeing as I just had to spend £123 on glasses (which had to go on the credit card.. :wall:) can I justify another £13 a month for contacts??

No Jinky. Because my prescription had changed I needed a new pair of glasses before I had contacts in case one got lost, I didn't like them after the trial etc etc. Oh well. At least they'll do me for another 2 years now.
