I was considering making a trip to the Next Outlet Store in Milton Keynes and was wondering if anyone new if it was worth it?? I mainly shop for kids clothes and normally use the outlet at Hatfield Galleria - which doesn't stock that much in childrens. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, is there anything else on the same site in MK thats worth a look??

    Thanks in advance

I live in Milton Keynes and have to say that the Next outlet store is not worth a long journey for. Having said that and rather annoyingly, they had the jacket I bought full price at a normal Next reduced to about a third. Most of the stuff though is stuff they just can't shift for love or money. The normal Next sale has far better stuff.

On the same site there is a huge TK Maxx which is far better and is worth travelling for and even more so when the new Ikea and Asda (largest in the country) both open just across the road before the end of the year.

Oh, and don't forget the new MK Dons FC stadium will be just across the road too! Come on you Dons! :T

What's the difference between Next To Nothing, and Next Clearance stores?

They used to be called Next To Nothing but were rebranded as Next Clearance
  • our local clearance at dalon pk nr durham is fab, its a big store and have clothes and furniture, well worth a look, got my sofa last year for less than half price than the then current next directory price, they get about 10 new sofas in each week and are really good, if you tell tham what your after they will call you if it comes in, they wont reserve anything but will at least let you know.
my friend has just bought a sofa (cane type stuff) still in the directory for about half price, this happens a lot acording to the lady, if someone orders a sofa and they dont want it when it arrives or it wont fit the room they cant return them to the furniture storage place so they are sent to the clearance shops...so loads of bargains to be had inc the leather ones :T

I think they are called "Next to nothing", don't know what "choice" is or what they have to do with Next clearance stores.

The Next to nothing stores are run by Next they also have outlets in Swindon (great western) and Street (Clark's Village.

Next to Nothing stores have been renamed "Next Clearance". I've stopped going to the one in Clarks Village as I found the quality very poor, the sizes wrong and there's very little choice (of nice clothes, there's lots of rubbish). I also discovered that they actually import clothes especially for Next Clearance which aren't of the required quality for normal Next shops. For example, I bought a nice suit for £54 - bargain I thought, but the material on the trousers started to go thin after only a few months, my other suits have lasted years, even the cheap Matalan ones!
Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!

Is hit and missed, at the moment with the regular Next sales on, stuff at the Clearance outlets are on the final reductions. Picked up 2 good quality wool suits for £28. They're obviously trying to make room for the sale stuff that won't sell in the normal shops.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:

  • I went to the one at Cheshire Oaks today and the stuff was pretty much the same as Greyhound Park on Tuesday except a lot of it was more expensive. Didn't get anything needless to say.
  • I didn't visit MK in the end. Just went to the Galleria (Hatfield). Choice store there has 50% off all its clothing. Got a few things for the kids and a top for me, all for 13pound (sorry, pound sign doesn't work). Had some really nice embellished jeans that sell in Directory for 40pounds down to 10pounds. Its ok if you're a standard side - ie 10 or 12. As a 'larger lady' I don't tend to pick up that much in Outlet Stores.

    M & S there wasn't bad either, got a few bra's reduced to 5pound from 18 and matching knickers for 3pound from 8.

Thanks for all the replies on this thread, hope its helped a few more people too :T

I went to Cheshire Oaks yesterday and got a few things. I'm surprised that you said that things were more expensive. In all the clearance stores now virtually everything is either £2 or £3. Remember don't look at anything on the ticket price only look above the rails where they tell you how much everything on that rail is.
