    Hi All

I'm making this for the first time today (following Dehlia's recipe) but I couldn't get a hold of beef dripping when I was getting the ingredients - can anyone offer an alternative please?

    Thanks

Is it for browning the meat and veg ? If so just use another fat -olive oil, veg oil, lard, butter
  • A while ago, I made a recipe of pot roast beef for us. I'm fairly sure it was from a food magazine or a cookbook.

It made loads, enough to feed the 2 of us for about 10 meals. We ate the last of it last night, but I can't find the recipe anywhere!!

I've gone through my recipe file, and all my cookbooks, but can't find it :(

Does anyone have a recipe for this kind of thing? It was quite tomato-y, which made me think it might have been a Jamie O recipe??

Argh, I hate it when this happens!
  • Hello,

A plea for some help, my mother and my grandmother arent picking up the phone!!

I'm cooking a beef pot roast right now - could someone tell me if it's possible to cook it rare?

It's on right now, in a pot with veg, wine and stock. Is there anyway of making it nice and rare??

Or do I have to cook it for several hours? Can't I just pump up the heat and take it out after 30 mins?

If you have bought a joint for pot roasting it will need long slow cooking, otherwise it will be tough
