Lidl Bargains

I made a post on the local board about Lidl having a car park clearance sale tomorrow at 8am in Clacton on Sea and noticed that this was not the only post about Lidl having a clearance on the local board so it may be worth checking out your local Lidl over the weekend. It also stated on the flyer, that this offer was not being advertised anywhere except instore.

Didnt see anything at my local branch :(.

Have to say, I have been shopping at Lidls for the last few weeks and though it may not offer as much choice, I am saving a fortune and really eating well. I've halved my food budget.

What really gets me is how little you buy when there are no glitzy marketing techniques making you buy things you dont need. Last week I filled my entire fridge for £14! If I'd gone to the large Tescos in town I'd have come home with umpteen treats and household things I'd have thrown in my trolley without thinking.

A good few weeks back I noticed in the Borehamwood Store they were advertising a clearance sale for the following week, listing amongst other things a stainless steeel simmer pan would have liked. I bowled down to my nearest one in Tottenham on the day and no sale in sight, let alone simmering pans. In the Tottenham store people line up outside the door long before the shop opens so sell out very quickly. This store has virtually no left-overs. The Manager told me they have very little storage for excess so have mini-sales as and when but purely down to the Shop Manager.

I luv Lidls and have saved on my shopping bill. Cheese, yoghurts, yummy biscuits and household products are excellent value.

Get there early! Our local Lidl had a car park sale a couple of weeks ago and it was pandemonium. It was supposed to start at 09.00 but by 08.45 there must have been 30 people with over-flowing trolleys. On guy loaded up a trolley (literally) with trainers and walked about bragging how much he would make from selling them at market and car boots. The in-store poster indicated that goods would be sold at 75% off, however it was a trolley full of goods for £20.

As I understand it, price is subject to negotiation with the manager - fill the trolley up & make him an offer. My brother does some work for the store, and has told me of people with a trolley full of electrical goods arguing about whether they'd pay £15 or £20....
I really must stop loafing and get back to work...

I tried that in Asda once. There was a pair of shoes for 19.99 but I wanted to pay no more than 14.99. After much discussion, the manager asked me to leave the shop. :o
