Miss pixie rocktastic up her income diary

So a friend encouraged me to start a specific upping your income diary on here and i hope no-one minds.
If you want to read it then thats ace you can encourage me or tell me off  if you dont fancy reading thats no problemo either.

So whats the plan miss pixie rocktastic ?

The plan is to try and earn £200 a month extra so that my 20k debt is paid off quicker, now because i have to pay for my holiday first the plan is to basically pay for any extras through extra money-not from money thats from my work wage.

How do you suppose you'll do that you foolish girl money doesn't grow on trees ?

Well the master plan is to endeavour to raise money in as many forms as possible which will include money from slice the pie, my search funds, ebay, myspace (i've just started making resin jewelery) and any surveys-obviously all the help on this thread is going to be perfect for me

How will i know how your getting on and the progress your making ?

Well i plan to do a monthly run down of how i'm doing and how much i have made from each area which i will then write here and add up to see how we go

Not really done anything like this before, i have a car mot in august meep so some of the money i make will be put aside for that any spare money will go to my debts

:rotfl: wish me luck :D

    Luck duly wished! :D

It's amazing how with determination and a focus as to what it's going to all the little extra can add up.

Since booking my holiday in January I've managed to raise about £230 towards the trip with extra income.

Keep us up to date with your progress.

Well I wish you luck fellow STP member.

Personally I think you should try and give music journalism a shot or some thought from what I saw of your quoted review from STP. You certainly seem way more creative than me and I'm sitting at position 140 on STP. Impression I get is if you had the time and inclination you could be no.1 scout on STP. I would personally have a look at where STP are based and maybe try and apply to work for them??? Or maybe do a short journalism course and worm your way into the music industry as I am sure Simon Cowel (sp?) from X Factor is no Einstein and he has a high position at Sony BMG.

I have been doing surveys for a month and they are NOT great earners the best being Lightspeed and OnePoll with YouGov and Toluna being a bit of a time waster.

You mention MySearchFunds ... ok really steady source of income provided you slightly change the way you do your internet surfing. Max Income is 100 searches a day anymore will probably be rejected as fraud so thats 2.70ish a day/ Personally I average a quid a day around 30ish searches.

Your jjewelery .... I did not realise myspace was a sellers environment!!! Though if you are serious I would take a look at 123Reg ecomerce options as they enable you to open your own internet shop at low cost with relative ease (ie you do not need to folk out 2-3K for a company to design and construct you a website). A you won't have many products you can start on the cheaper package around a tenner a month (this includes hosting and domain name). So a suggest a name like pixiejewels????

Realistically your best earning opportunities lies in either getting overtime at work, getting promotion at work or getting a better paid job.

Anyway the whisky has gone to my head so sorry about the above if it was a little harsh or too loose.

  • Jools no offence taken :-)

I also sell on etsy but thats a fairly new thing too

I've just been made redundant so i am looking for a new job in the meantime i am temping with my previous employer (confusing i know)
The new job i get will need to have an increased salary so that is what will bump up my target

    thanks for the advice
    x sam

*edit* i'm also going to set up a big cartel cart again but thats a work in progress the brand name for my bits and pieces is rocktasticplastic
Thats because i make acrylic and plastic jewelery, kitsch items and i've just started working with resin too
