Possible step towards ED???

Hi all

I received a letter from my OR yesterday saying they 'intend to apply to the secretary of state for trade and industry for my release as trustee.'

I dont quite get why? It says that they are doing this because it means that they are able to close my file. Is this then a step towards early discharge? I'd never heard anyone else mention this before on the forum or have i just missed it?

I did try ringing them yesterday to get a bit more info but they havent got back to me as yet. I have also check the IS website and that still lists me as bankrupt.

Does anyone know what this means and why they are going to do it?

It's possible step towards ED, but in itself means no more than it says.

Taking my own case as an example; I received that letter 3 months into my BR. However, I didn't hear anything further regarding ED until 7 1/2 months in, and the ED itself didn't come through till 10 months.

Other people have received that and have been discharged quicker than me, while others have received it but then had to go the full 12 months.

Treat it as a hopeful sign, but don't read any more into it than that.

EDIT: And before people mention it, not everyone gets sent that particular letter!
