I have a few debts which I am currently paying on a reduced payment plan (most at a £ a month) because my income has been severely reduced due to illness and we are struggling for cash. I thought everything was ok, as I have kept the payments up religiously and redone my expenditure and sent proof like sick notes and…

Good. Glad you feel better.

And remember, even if the debt collector or creditor should go to court, there is plenty of free advice on how to deal with it so that bailiff's never get involved.

Such as here for example: Link. But they and the other organisations will also talk you through things if you need it.
