Oven doors in dishwasher?

Is there any reason I can't take off my oven doors and shove them in the dishwasher provided that they fit?
They are brushed chrome. I can't see why there would be a problem but thought I'd check first.

I don't think I would if there's glass in them. The glass has a coating on it which may get damaged in the dishwasher. It may also damage any seals.

I would worry that water would somehow get into the glass door.Lakeland sell a large container for soaking oven doors in though, plus the chemicals for cleaning, haven't tried it yet.

I haven't tried it- you all put me off!
The reason I thought it may work is that the dishwasher doesn't fill with water but when you wash them you soak them. The coating doesn't come off when you attack it with nasty chemicals. The seals should be heat and waterproof.
I thought they ought to be ok in the dishwasher because of what your oven has to go through! I may go and try it now if I can get them off. Then I can report back this evening!

The only thing that would worry me is the chrome coating getting damaged or tarnished. I took the chrome knobs off mine and put them in the dishwasher, within a week of using them the chrome coating started coming off.
