Part P Courses

Has anyone here done a Part P course. (Electrical)
Is it worth the cost?
To be able to do electrics in other peoples homes does the Part p have to be used in conjunction with an NVQ or City and guilds certification.
I have an NVQ2 in Mechanical manufacture (and an NVQ3 in Sheet metal work) and one of the comnponenets of that was electics (wiring light fittinggs, sockets etc from a fuse/rcd box) so I have a pretty good idea about it and want a change of career.
Any info would be appreciated.

[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
