MARCH Make £10 extra a day challenge

People are doing so well, I'm amazed! I've not really concentrated on it enough but have made a bit of extra money so at least it's something more than I would have had. Just deposited £15.63 from mystery shops into my account and have another on Tuesday, so hopefully will be able to get a bit more. Better start looking for things to put on ebay!Make £5 a day challenge - February £54.28/£140
To help pay off 0% CC debt - 27.1.15 £7367.12
Mortgage deposit savings £2501.00/£15,0000 -
Just remembered as well, I wrote 2 letters of complaint last weekend to Aldi for overcharging me 40p for a product and Tesco for having the most revolting vegetarian product in the planet (spinach and ricotta sausages... don't do it!) and each of them have sent me £3 money cards this week, so going to add that to my amount!Make £5 a day challenge - February £54.28/£140

I get where you are coming from but I am very very strict, if money gets put away for new glasses then no matter what goes wrong the money stays there and I have to find extra money for whatever the crisis is. I find if something goes wrong with my car and I have no money saved I do find it somehow so if I have saved for something else I will still find the money some how.
It used to drive my husband mad I would tell him we were really skint for a month and would have to be really careful and he would reply but we have £100 in car account £60 in christmas account and £100 in holiday we can borrow from them, but I NEVER borrow from an allocated spending. It is only when it came to xmas and the cars service and I had saved all the money in advance that he really understood and appreciated my way of doing things. The first year is a nightmare as well because we were paying things off for that year and trying to save for the following year, but now its fab, we always have the money saved and therefore no debt :j:j:j and when something unexpected comes up we find the money somehow be it extra work, or bingo, mystery shopping, quidco all sorts that I do on this thread.
Batgirl, I got confused for a moment and thought I wrote this...Ssshh - I might know about deals in/near Keswick0 -
Reply to Batgirls post above: That's very helpful, and yet I haven't got to that point yet - when my car got desperate there was no other way - perhaps it is different when you are not part of a couple as there is no one else to fall back on - (no-one else to give me a lift or have a car I could borrow) and I am on a fixed income. I can't get travel expenses, overtime or bonuses. My electricity, council tax and fuel bills just keep going up. I should be able to do better since the Bingo wins, although that is going on a backlog of tedious house maintenance type things (not the Ferrari!) that I couldn't afford before. The cashback sites are helping a lot with the necessary stuff like car and house insurances.
I know exactly what you mean, although I must say that, as Batgirl almost hinted at, having a partner can also be a negative, cos you have to persuade them not to raid your savings. I started this method really slowly, with one 'save' (I think it was the car) at £1 a month, occasionally adding more, but NEVER letting the £1 stop. Sounds a bit pathetic, but we all know how those pennies add up on this thread.
I must admit I am reveiwing my method at the moment, cos I used the incredibly convenient and user friendly 'Savings Pots' from Barclays, which hardly pay any interest at all. Its tricky finding something as useful, but actually pays more than a few pence.Ssshh - I might know about deals in/near Keswick0 -

ok, the voucher thingy:
you may have seen when you buy some things online a box for you to submit a voucher code and recieve a discount on your shopping, there are several websites out there which list various voucher codes for some websites. these include:
www.vouchercodes.com
www.myvouchercodes.co.uk
www.!!!!!!.co.uk
www.voucherstar.co.uk
www.latestdiscountvouchers.co.uk
and that is to name only a few!!!! they can be a bit hit and miss, but its a great way to get some money off your shopping. i do it every time i shop online now just to see if i can get some money off what i was going to buy anyway!
when i do it, i simply type into Google "[name of the shop] voucher code" and see what i can find. for my latest purchase i typed in "bunches.co.uk voucher" and it took me to http://www.latestdiscountvouchers.co.uk/flower-discount-vouchers.htm where i found the code "AWMA" which gave me a 10% discountAiming to pay off £50,312.94 in less than 3 years - Starting from December 2015

Thats what I think, much as having an OH and his wage is fab we also have 2 ever growing boys and 2 cars and all the extra expenses another person brings, we have often said at times I would have been better off finacially as a single parent which is a bit crazy. At times having an OH really helps making extra money but at others its a huge hindrance because of extra expense. I thinks its probably 6 of one and half a dozen of the otherMay 2015 £10 a day currently £2080 -
Thanks, Weebit - that voucher thing looks really useful!0
